What are lab grown diamonds?

Lab grown diamonds are man-made diamonds that have the same physical, chemical, and visual properties as naturally mined diamonds.

How are lab grown diamonds made?

All diamonds are made of carbon. When carbon atoms are pushed together with high temperature and pressure, they bond together and form crystals. The most common man made diamond method involves large presses that weigh hundreds of tons, and create pressure at around 1500 degrees celsius.

Are lab grown diamonds certified and graded using the same process as mined diamonds?

Yes, while some use their own criteria, most labs grade on the basis of the 4c’s (cut, clarity, color, and carat). Lab grown diamonds are graded to the same standards as those that are mined.

Why do lab grown diamonds cost less than natural diamonds?

In short, while the quality is the same, lab grown diamonds are more common, or less rare, than naturally mined diamonds. Additionally, continuously improving technology will only bring prices down.

Why should I consider lab grown diamonds?

Social Responsibility: You know exactly where it’s coming from, and that it was produced humanely in a conflict free zone. Our lab grown diamonds are grown and cut in the US.

Environmental impact: Mining natural diamonds causes deforestation, soil erosion, and ecosystem destruction. If when purchasing a precious stone, you consider its effect on the environment, lab grown diamonds may be an option for you.

One-of-a-Kind: This sustainable alternative creates hues rarely found in nature making them more unique and attainable.
