Not Impressed is a New York City based accessories brand founded in 2014 by Ev Tao. Ev grew up making macramé bracelets with the women in her family, and always intended to create pieces that honor her Taiwanese heritage. While visiting her hometown Taipei, Ev was unintentionally inspired by a trip to the local bead market with her mother. She notes, “Macramé beading has always been somewhat of a tradition within Taiwanese and Chinese culture.” Today, all pieces are made to order and hand crafted by Ev in her downtown studio.
As an AAPI founded and led brand, we’re proud to showcase and uplift businesses in our community. Discover and support some of our other favorite nominees.
