Meet The Artist—Lauren Moore

OCTOBER 18, 2024

Meet Lauren Moore, founder of The Design Assembly—a Los Angeles-based, multidisciplinary interior design, build, and creative studio. When it came time to craft our flagship store, fate led Jennie to Lauren at Platform, where she was designing a pop-up space for our neighbor MATE The Label. A partnership was born, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Lauren’s approach to design is rooted in timeless elegance. Her knack for creating spaces where warmth and sophistication coexist struck a chord with Jennie, and together, they envisioned our flagship—an inviting sanctuary where clients can explore modern heirlooms in a truly elevated setting.

Tasked with transforming an existing clothing store, Lauren’s challenge was to reimagine the space, crafting a fine jewelry showroom that also featured a private appointment area. “I wanted to incorporate an architectural feature so that the store feels regal, and not like an empty box,” Lauren explains. “One of the challenges was creating a new space in an existing closet and making it feel elegant and considered.”

The meticulous detail she infused into every inch of the store does not go unnoticed. “The jewelry displays were custom-built out of maple and clad in Campolonghi Dover White leathered marble which was fabricated on-site. The stone is so unique, with a tinge of green and a bit of swirly grey veining.  Because of the honed finish, there is a subtle sparkle to it up close. Jennie and I loved the idea of incorporating stone as a feature element of the space—stone from my world as an interior designer to showcase the stones of her world as a jewelry designer.”

From the textured cement plaster walls, reminiscent of aged European facades, to the sleek marble showcases, every detail was designed to create a sense of luxury and intimacy. Lauren seamlessly blended her design philosophy with ours, ensuring that the space feels sophisticated yet welcoming.
